Advanced Placement (AP) course

Advanced Placement (AP) is an educational project established by the American College Examination Board (CEEB), which is highly recognized by many prestigious schools in Canada and the United States. This course is designed to enable capable high school students in North America to take first-year university courses in advance, so as to improve the competitiveness of students applying to prestigious universities, help students adapt to the courses and life of North American universities in advance, and shorten the time required to complete the university.

AP offers 37 courses equivalent to the first-year university level, covering science, culture, art and other subjects. After passing the 9-month study (September to May), students take the exam organized and organized by the College Board​. Registration for the exam starts in March each year, is held in May, and the results are announced in July.​

AP test scores are based on a 5-point system, with 1 point being the lowest and 5 points being the highest. Under normal circumstances, scores of 3 or more can be exchanged for credits at the university. Most prestigious schools in Canada accept scores of 4 or more. The test duration is generally 2 to 3 hours.

In recent years, because Canadian universities have generally used the performance of students in the AP exam as a basis for measuring their ability to be competent for university study, AP exam scores have become the most important basis for admission considerations in many universities. One. In addition, for students with outstanding academic performance, this is also a great opportunity to receive scholarships.

The school currently offers AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Economics, AP Computer, AP Statistics, and AP Psychology. It is recommended that students in grades 11 or 12 can choose one or more courses according to their abilities .
